Welcome to Mrs. J's Physical Science Page! This site is intended to serve as a resource for students and teachers of high school physical science and introductory chemistry and physics. Here is an overview of what you will find...
Lecture Notes - PowerPoint presentations including definitions, diagrams, pictures, and sample problems. Use these as a supplement to your own class notes or as a review. Review Sheets - Practice problems with answer keys and checklists of key concepts. Use these to review before a test. Science Links - A variety of tutorials and other resources. Other Resources - Print out a periodic table and helpful reference information. View some of the handouts I gave my students to help them get organized, keep a proper lab notebook, make an accurate graph, and study for tests.
Please feel free to use and modify any of the materials on this site for use in your own classes. If you do so, I would appreciate hearing from you. Lecture Notes - PowerPoint presentations including definitions, diagrams, pictures, and sample problems. Lesson Materials - Worksheets and laboratory handouts. Review Sheets - Practice problems with answer keys and checklists of key concepts. Science Links - A variety of tutorials and other resources. Other Resources - Miscellaneous information on how I ran my classroom. Check this out if you want to see how another science teacher addressed classroom policies, independent student research (i.e. science fair), lab notebooks, extra credit, and more. There's also a nice periodic table and reference sheet that I designed for students to use for reference during tests.
Files on this site are in three formats - Adobe Acrobat (pdf), Microsoft Word (doc), and Microsoft PowerPoint (ppt). If you do not have these programs, you will need to install the following free viewers:
